The new All Season mixture takes advantage of the siginficant advances DLF has made in the breeding of turf type tall fescues with regard to fineness of leaf and shoot density, providing an attractive, hard wearing alternative to ryegrass mixtures.

Tall fescue has roots which will penetrate the root zone to depths of over 1m.

The mix will cope with extremes of heat, drought and occasional waterlogging.

Authorities responsible for the safety of aircraft have been concerned with the danger of damage caused by aircraft striking birds while in flight. Methods of reducing this have been sought, which has brought about the introduction of Long Grass Management.

Tall Fescue, Cocksfoot and Timothy, in that order were found to be the most suitable for a long grass policy. Tall Fescue is the most promising species due to its erect stiff habit of growth.

It is a highly persistent, frost and drought resistant species and when managed at an optimum mown height of 150mm, the most suited to long grass management.
