Sports Relief Weekend 19-21 March 2010

It’s that time of year when many ‘sporty types’ take on amazing challenges like hopping from Land’s End to John of Groats to raise money for Sport Relief. Meanwhile some of us who are slightly less sporty might be considering a sponsored giving up of chocolate for a month. Believe me it is no less challenging.
At Sport Relief you can see some of the amazing work already done and pick up loads of ideas for how to help this year.
Former England Captain Alan Shearer has recently visited a project in Kenya which cares for some of the many children who are orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Following a match with the kids Shearer said,
“It was fantastic to be able play with the lads here – you can see how much they love the game and what an important part it plays in their otherwise extraordinarily tough lives.”
